Melissa’s counseling style is genuine, filled with compassion and insight, and action oriented. She has a passion for empowering individuals to overcome personal obstacles to improve their quality of life. She fosters a team approach and helps individuals see the importance of applying newly learned skills to their everyday lives to achieve lasting progress and healing. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral techniques, and draws on interpersonal and systems theories to help individuals achieve identified goals.
Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with fourteen years of professional experience helping adolescents and families successfully manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, as well as navigate complex family dynamics. She also has experience helping individuals who struggle with low self-esteem and self-injurious behaviors. She obtained her undergraduate degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago. She earned a graduate degree from University of Illinois Chicago in Social Work and a second graduate degree from Roosevelt University in Educational Administration.
